Three Flips Drill: Perfecting Wall Turns for Developmental Swimmers

Repetition, repetition, repetition!

This drill or activity is highly effective for beginning swimmers who are still mastering their flip turns. I've successfully used this with developmental swimmers aged 12 and under, as well as older state-level swimmers (9-12 years old).

The Three Flips Drill Workout Set

This set requires a partner to maximize practice time.

 

Executing the Three Flips

While your partner is swimming or kicking, you will perform the three flips at the wall. You must touch your feet in three distinct locations:
