Private Lesson Challenges
Use these three challenges to keep private lessons engaging and focused on key skills. Each one targets a specific technique and can be adapted for different ability levels.
Challenge 1: Backstroke Underwater
Swim breaststroke on your back, underwater, from the T to the flags. This builds body awareness and breath control while reinforcing a strong, streamlined backstroke pull.
Challenge 2: Side Paddle
Lay on your side and paddle your arm like a canoe, not pushing past your hips. Get halfway without hitting a lane line or wall. This drill improves side-lying balance and arm mechanics for side breathing and elementary backstroke.
Challenge 3: Back on the Bottom, Two Feet on the Wall
Lay down on the bottom of the pool with your back, shoulders, and hips touching the floor. At the same time, put both feet on the wall. Hold it for 2 seconds. This challenge builds core strength, body position awareness, and wall familiarity โ great for preparing flip turns or streamlines off the wall.
