Streamline Through Hula Hoops

This is a very simple game you can play multiple ways, making it perfect for various skill levels and ages. It focuses on improving the fundamental technique of streamlining while adding a fun, goal-oriented challenge.

How to Play

The setup requires holding two hula hoops underwater. The swimmer must then streamline through both hoops. To start, hold them close enough to the wall so the swimmer can get through both by pushing off the wall.

Increasing the Challenge

To keep the game engaging and challenging for the swimmer, always give clear goals that are “difficult” but easy to accomplish. For example:

  • First Attempt: Have them go through the hoops normally in streamline on their stomach (prone position).Second Goal: Challenge them to go through on their side (sidestream).Third Goal: Progress to having them go through while on their back (supine position).

By changing how they go through the hoops, you'll prolong the relatively simple nature of the “game,” ensuring continuous fun and a sense of accomplishment for your swimmer.
