What

This challenge involves sitting on the bottom of the pool with legs crossed and hands on knees, holding the position for 2 seconds. A bonus version requires putting your nose and belly on the bottom at the same time, also held for 2 seconds.

How

  1. Start in shallow water where you can comfortably stand.
  2. Take a deep breath and submerge, lowering yourself to sit on the bottom.
  3. Cross your legs and place your hands on your knees.
  4. Hold this position for 2 seconds.
  5. Push off the bottom to return to the surface.
  6. For the bonus: instead of sitting, lower your nose and belly to touch the bottom simultaneously, holding for 2 seconds.

Difficulties Instructors Might Face

Some swimmers may struggle with buoyancy or fear of submersion. Ensure the water is shallow enough for safety and provide encouragement. For the bonus, swimmers might need extra practice with breath control to hold the position longer.
