When running a swim program, it's easy to get caught up in the operational details—the perfect level structure, the latest certification, or the newest licensing requirement. But if you remember one thing, remember this: Most parents don’t care what your swim program system is.
What Parents Actually Care About
They care about three things:
- Will their child learn how to swim?Does it fit into their schedule? Is it within their budget?
Simply put, parents are more worried about making the most out of their time and effort when bringing their kid to swim lessons. They want progress; they want success. But they don’t really care how you order your level structure. It’s not important to them.
The Takeaway
That’t to say you shouldn’t have a structure or a plan—of course, planning is crucial for quality instruction. But you absolutely do not need to drop thousands of dollars licensing a swim program just to be successful.
