I created this short, 10 minute training video to supplement the SLI Swim Instructor Training Workbook. This goes along with the first section, Going Underwater. When you teach swimming, sometimes you need a guide to teach going underwater. This is an introductory explanation of the Underwater Progression we use in the SLI swim lesson world. There is some good information here for beginning swim instructors. We cover going underwater progression itself:
- Whole head
We also go through how you can actually get your swimmers to go underwater following the progression including how you should hold or support the participants. Learn how to celebrate each individual underwater event as a noteworthy moment and garner the adoration and trust from your participants.
This is a pretty raw video, with very light editing, but I am interested if you find any value from it before I start pumping out more. Do you like videos like this? Will you use something similar with video as a part of your swim instructor training? Leave a comment below. Your honest input will help create a better swim lesson tomorrow!
